Well, with Christmas fast approaching, it is a busy time, those who live locally will see the Christmas tree went up around Labour Weekend. My sister and I spent the best part of a Sunday getting out the decorations and shuffling things around so the tree could go in the window.
As we were putting the decorations on the tree, some of which are hand stitched, Carol my sister turned to me and said "Wouldn't it be neat if the whole tree was decorated in hand made decorations, how about we do that next year"
I'm estimating we would need around 150 decorations to give a reasonable coverage on a 7 foot tree. We currently have around 30 hand made decorations, so that only leaves us around 120 to make by next Labour weekend. So 60 each. That's in between everything else we want to do. Thinking it through I did decide that not all the decorations had to be stitched, we do after all also sell felt squares, fabric paints, glue and embellishments. Phew!!!
The website is coming along, feedback, on what you like or dislike or any mistakes you see is appreciated as it helps us make improvements. One customer said she would like to see buttons and ribbons, so far I have managed to put some of the Incomparable Buttons and Polymer Clay buttons up, the ranges of these available are quite large, we don't carry them all in stock but can order more in if you have a particular theme you would like.
We have had some issues with some of the pictures going pixelated or blurry when enlarged particularly knitting patterns, I am working my way through trying to replace these with better quality photos.
At the moment our featured products on the home page are craft bags by Yazzii, these are really well made bags great for taking projects to and fro to classes or on holiday or just for keeping everything for your projects together. I'm about to do another order and get some more variety in, including knitting bags and Knitting and Crochet hook holders. I also have my eye on a large bag that I think my husband and kids might like to give me for Christmas... so thoughtful of them... don't you think.
For the knitters amongst you, it is the time of the year where the yarn companies show us what they are making/ bringing in for next year, so it is also the time when we have to start looking at our shelves and working out what has to go to make room for new stock. Lucky for us most of the new stock isn't available until End February/Early March so we have some time. You will notice shortly that some of the yarns are moving into the Specials or discontinued Yarns area of our Knitting Yarn section on the website. So do keep an eye out for the odd bargain.
Happy Knitting and Stitching
